: Injectors.. What's the difference??

When it comes to injectors, the cheap way out seems to be 370's.. Garmon's diesel said I could go with those, or a set of their high dollar ($1200) injectors.. What's the advantage of the more pricey injectors?? Once again, novice cummins questions.. They said they would set the new turbo at 50 pounds of boost.. I was also told it was a slow spooling turbo, which would hurt driveability.. With only 50 pounds, will the expensive injectors make more power, or would they only be benefited from when and if I ever get more boost?? All help is appreciated.. Are BD torque converters as good as Suncoast or ATS?? Just wondering.. Thanks..

there are some guys on the register making in the area of 5-600 horsepower with 370's....maybe even more. I would say go with the 370's and set of laser cut delivery valves if you want to really pour the smoke on. There's a reason the market for 12 valve performance injectors is dominated by the 370's - they're cheap and they work!

id go with the 370s and laser cut DV's.Dont bother spending any more on injectors until you get a better pump on the truck that can deliver more fuel. A big single turbo will giive good numbers, but driveability isnt great, it will take a while to spool it.Id go with a pius/bell hybrid or a B1,until you can do twins.

How much are delivery valves?? Any recommendations on where to buy them??

I just got a 5 inch exhaust off ebay with no muffler for just over $310 with shipping..
Some say 5 inch looses power.. I didn't think this could be the case considering all the stacks on trucks out there.. Had one retailer tell me not to go that big..

U cant loose any power on a 5 inch exhaust, more air out only helps puttin more air in.
Mach 5's are an edm injector. They are designed to give more power with less smoke by changing the spray angles and other things.Don M makes them, here is his linkhttp://www.f1diesel.com

Morse, what are your goals? HP? Dragrace time?

If I am remembering you came down to the shop last year after Muncie?

Didn't you get a little tweaking then? Jeff has a big charger on his street truck. Trying some new stuff out. Only makes about 40 psi but mid 500"s on the rollers. It is laggy though. But when boost hits, jeez...

He ran a 13.4 with major traction issues at 111 mph with this setup (injectors and turbo) but doesn't like it so as a matter of fact it is coming off as I type. He does have some other new singles coming to play with. I always look forward to product testing... ;)

To answer the questions on injectors. The expensive injectors above the 370's are modified or built from scratch new injectors. Jeff's are honed not EDM. Jeff is not an injector dealer so few people run his injectors, but they are really good injectors.

I want the truck to be quick.. Actual drive quality is not a concern.. I want to be able to drive it on the street, though it doesn't have to be overly responsive or anything.. I'll throw slicks on for the track.. I PM'd you.....

With that setup 3's 0r 4's (EDM's) would work out real good.

Since DonM no longer makes 12v injectors your best to look elsewhere. Don does 24v and some HPCR injectors. The Mach series are 24v injectors. Honestly until things are really cranked up on your truck 370's are hard to beat.
