You can stick a blade on that truck. Deal is you have a long wheelbase and a wide ass. It wont be technicly warantee legal but they will have to prove what ever you did or didnt do casued the problem. You may be screwed for front end parts but thats about it and mostly dependant on how cool your dealer is.

Describe what kinda plowing you will be doing

Just my driveway and my paking lot.Put a Meyers 8ft off my Dodge on it.Seems fine just needed about 800lbs in bed to drive with good traction. If a one ton truck can't handle a plow what can?thanks for the replys--

I've got a 03 Extended cab dually and put a 9' Western on it. Just make sure you add some ballast weight to the back of the truck (about 700-900 lbs) to help level it out and take some weight off the front end, also you can turn up the torsion keys some to get some lift in the front.
Most plow manufacturers don't recommend a plow for extended and crew cab trucks with diesel's, including ford and dodge, because of the front axle being overloaded, GM dosen't like it either as you can't get the snop plow prep package on the diesel EC/CC truck's. But a lot of people do it anyway, me included and I haven't had any problem's yet, look at the pic's in my sig if you want.
Just take it easy with the truck and plow and drive it like a normal person and it will last you for a while. My 93 dually diesel lasted 10 years of plowing with a 9' fisher and no problems at all with the front end.

If you look at your VIN and the 8th number is a 1 then you have the old LB7 engine with old style injector set up, if it is a 2 then you have the new style LLY engine and new injector setup. Truck's built before Jan 1, 04 are LB7, after Jan 1, 04 are LLY.

Good Luck

i have an uncle and cousin and they both use their boss V plows on for comercial snowplowing and they work great. i don't think they put much ballast in the back except their 100gall fuel tanks ;) that they keep on them for the excavators and a little salt for the sidewalks.

Thanks!! This a great site.Love the truck tow about a 10,000lb load (trailer, race car, tools, gen, etc.) runs strong stops good and is stable as hell with those dual wheels. We have 2 -1 Chevy- 1 Gmc- both have about 15k and no problems. What is average fuel mileage?

Start with 800#'s in the bed secured behind the rear axel. your fat but and long wheelbase may become a PITA for you and if it does get some pro wings for it and you will be good to go. After you put your ballast in the back see how much she drops. I have timbrens up front and they dont affect the ride empty but I dont have much drop with my big V blade. You might want to put a few cranks on your t bars, decide that after you get the ballast in there and see how she sits.

Duno if you did or not but I would recomend spending the $$$ and getting the isolation module from meyers so you dont have to splice it.

ussually around 15 mixed highway city and close to 20 at 70mph is what most find

DieselDragon "GM dosen't like it either as you can't get the snop plow prep package on the diesel EC/CC truck's. "

You can get the plow prep package on the EC but not on the CC. I opted for the EC just for that reason. The Blizzard 810 is a bit heavier than it's rated for but the dealer can't tell what blade you're pushing by the undercarriage. I gave up the CC for EC but figure I'll never have a warranty problem over the plow.

just for the info my uncle and cousins trucks are not duellies they are only 3/4 ton heavy duty crew cab long beds. they say they push a ton better with the longer wheel base. my cousin also said to be careful not to drop the front end off of the edge of the parking lot if it is not frozen because it will sink with all of that front weight. he also said the V plow has pushed him out by doing the ^ to v motion. i do think you will need wings but no big deal.
