I have some thoughts on a Veggie oil system for my truck. I have decided that either by december or when diesel crosses the $5 mark in my area (which ever comes first) I will be doing a WVO conversion on my truck. I think I am going to go with a Golden Fuels base kit and one shot filtration system. I like these kits because they seem well tested and built, plus Racor filters are nice. The only problem comes down to my tank, which I am planning to build from aluminum. I recently straight piped my truck and I am thinking about making the tank wrap around the exhaust from the cab to as far back as possible. I am hoping to capitalize on the heat loss from the exhaust pipe. I will also be using two separate heating systems in the tank, one being the standard fox 1000 coolant heater and the other being a generic AC electric heater for constant heating when parked at home for short term trips or extra cold weather. Do you all think this is plausible, I am just trying to figure the best way to do this without losing capacity in my short bed or removing my spare tire. Also has anyone had a experience with the Golden Fuels systems? I am just looking for a Dieselplace review.

I had a friend that did the conversion in his VW. It lasted a year before it quit from the intake being clogged up. He removed the system. Have you thought about where to get the WVO? How far you will have to drive to get it? Also most places will charge you to take it now too. The quality varies greatly too. I was all ready to do this a while back and found plenty of reasons that do not make it cost effective. How much will the heater cost to run at home? I know I would spill some grease and it will be messy. How much does the kit cost? Just my thoughts. I am looking into the Labonte Motorsports water meth injection system. They are claiming 4-5 mpg increase and will save you .12c a mile after buying the washer fluid. That pays for the system in 6000 miles.
