I just noticed a valve tick or exhaust leak sound coming from drivers side of the engine no change in performance or drivability just wondering if its something to be concerned with its a 06LLY with 38000 miles in a medium duty. Any ideas would be great before i take it to the dealer? Thanks.

Strangest thing. I just noticed mine for the first time after my last oil change.

Had a buddies truck never make a noise till last oil change .

Now it has a tick . Also medium duty .

Wierd !!

Just changed my oil over the weekend:

ticktick.....ticktickticktick............ticktickt ick

Does and has done that every oil change since day one. About 1/4-1/2 way though the oil's life it mysteriously stops until it gets changed again.

I dont remember my older d-max 04LLY making the tick noise before or after the oil being changed or maybe i just never payed much attention to it.

I've recently aquired an exhaust type leaking noise (about 5 months) i've just been ignoring it, it seems to follow boost, kinda sounds like a spitting/tapping sound that seems to accelerate with boost. At first it would come on at 40 psi boost, now it comes on at 10 psi, it appears to come from the driver side. So far I've changed the uppipes, uppipe gaskets, boost tubes, boost tube boots, new banks intercooler, Ybridge intake, etc...........this noise has been present thru several turbos, so that can be ruled out.

Could an injector make this noise or anything else? Performance has not been affected.
