This is not your typical drivetrain. Looks like you can have it yourself if you want. I found this on the Ritchie Brothers Auction site coming up Tues and Weds in Olympia Wa...

I can't image what mods you would have to do to get this to work...

It is a 2002 CHEVROLET 2500HD CREW CAB 6X6 PICKUP.

That thing is awesome. Your right it would take some ingenuity to get that thing to work right. I wonder if maybe there is someone building 6X6's somewhere and we just don't know about it.

There is guy around here (East TN) that built one out of a Dodge. He used it for hauling a car hauler. His purpose was to meet DOT. It was awsome looking and looked more stock than that one.

I have seen a magazine article on that truck. The farmer that owns/owned that truck has done a couple of them. It is his winter projects. It has a chain drive box attached to the forward rear end that sends full time power to the rear-rear end. It also has brakes on only the forward rear axle.

Did you look at the link Tinypeckerwood. I did not see a chain drive box, and matter a fact it looked like there were two seperate axles and two sets of airbags.

this guy was my neighbor about 3 years ago. he had this truck redone twice while I knew him. the last biuld was the best as far as workmanship goes. T-Rex out of athol Id. did the suspension setup. the susp.is way cool with lasercut brackets and huge rod links. Body by Scotty in Post Falls Id.did the bed The rears were driven by a transfer case that was turned around if i remember right. The rear axle was offset to the right of center and the driveshaft ran beside the center section of the front axle. he drove it almost daily ,as i could always hear him coming down my street . pretty cool though ....joe. ps. not much good at typing and puncuation,, sorry.

Nope I sure didn't, well now I have. And it is not the truck I was thinking about. This truck looks a little more radical. The other one was featured in a mag not too long ago, same color and all.

There's a company called USA6x6 that does the conversions. I don't know if they're still in business, never herd many good things about them, although I never did business with them myself.
