I am wondering how long i need or can let my bio brew settle to drain off the glyc? Is there such as too long? I think 12hrs is average but what if i cant get to it for 24 to drain it off? Problems i might face?

What you may end up running into, is the glycerine will start to gel as it cools off. If you wait until it cools down or too long of time, it can gel in the bottom of your processing tank. Personally I've never gone more than 14 hours (usually an overnight batch)

The problem will be worse if you used Naoh instead of Koh. I let mine settle overnight as well. You can effectively drain it every 3 to 4 hours over your 24 hour period to prevent that gelling problem.

I don't have an issue with gelling. I think it has to do with the fact that I use KOH. I usually let mine sit overnight, but have, on occasion, let a batch sit for a couple of days. One thing I noticed about letting it settle for longer is that more stuff fell out of it, and it washed faster the longer I let it sit.

Yep,I let mine set at least 24 hours and sometimes I don't get to it till 48 but I use KOH so it stays nice and soft. Are you using any methanol recovery on the glycerin to get back the excess methanol?

Not trying to high jack the thread but you run it through a still and recover about 40% of the methanol to reuse in the next batch.Cuts you operating cost down a lot and it still is about 95 to 97 % pure.
