Howdy folks, New (05) Duramax owner here and couldn't be happier. No problems at all yet. Incredible power, more than I thought there would be. I am a happy camper. Well not quite, no camper yet!! but soon.
The problem is with a friend of mines 03 2500 duramax. He has had a lot of problems with it, that I won't document here for times sake. He has had injectors replaced among other things. It has been to 2 different dealerships and the last one it was in there for 5 weeks waiting for yet another injector. Long story short: He gets it home, starts it up the next morning, drives 8 miles and the same thing happens it just shuts down and limps along. He can shut it off, let it sit for an hour and go another 8 miles at highway speed and the same thing happens. Any thoughts on this, He is totally frustrated and actually saying the Dodge word. Help!!

Air in fuel line? Check the bleeder pump for prime(loosen bleeder screw and
Pump it). If losing prime, it may be a loose/leaking filter, WIF sensor, or maybe the dealer didn't get the filter housing back on quite right.

My 01 did the same thing. It was the boost pressure sensor.

I should also say that this only happens during cold weather. Spring, summer, fall its not a problem.
