I have read a few ads for reindexed keys for torsion bars that will bring the front of the truck up approximately 2 inches to level the truck without placing additional load on the torsion bars. I'd like to level the truck so I can put slightly larger rubber on it, but don't want to cause myself front end problems later on. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Steve

Changing the keys to a higher degree key, will load the torsion bars more. Thats how it gets more lift. The only thing you gain is being able to raise it more than the stock keys will with the bolts turned all the way up.
On that note, I had them in my truck, didnt like them and went back to stock keys. Maybe if I changed the shocks also, but the ride had a little to much spring for me. There was a lot of pressure build up there, just waiting to unwind.
If you are going to a 285, you can get plenty of room and level the truck with the stock keys and bolts.
