I just bought my truck about 3 weeks ago, and it came with a throw in k&n filter and the air box has been swiss cheesed in the front facing the headlight. All the holes are below the filter, Is this a safe filtering method, It can't be any worse than a air intake system, can it. Or should I change it back to a stock filter and buy a new bottom for my air box.

A search should get you a LOT of reading material on swiss cheese and the K&N.

Keep your juice set to 90HP max IMO for max trany life. I also wouldnt bounce around power levels unless its to tow or something, set it to one level and let it get trained for it and keep it there. JMO

K&N dosnt filter as well as a stock paper(or any filter for that matter really) and it has been show via track times that even no air filter shows 0 improvement over stock paper.
