Hey Guys,

I know the Alison's 1-4th gears hold more power than 5th..so i was wondering..If i just wanted to tryout the 120h setting but just lock-out O.D. on the shifter will that be ok? I just wanna see what kinda smoke i can make and such.....Yes I'm young dumb and full of..oh my..attention? Plus its spring break here and gotta smoke out some rice..Buti won't be goin over 50mph...so lemme know...

And if you think i am stupid..please let me know, lol

Nothing will break if you do it a few times. I wouldn't run around like that every day but you will get away with it for a while. You will slip it in 5th for sure.

When I pulled my trans my truck showed i slipped 4th gear a bit. I never limped or zinged my trans. Just ran 90hp juice for awhile and some playing a bit in 125. I would say play a bit but IMO your not 100% safe.

4Th ( C2 ) can be limped almost as easily as 5th.

Stage 3 pulls just has hard as stage 5 when in 5th gear when the converter is locked. At least it seams like it. From 0-60 is a different story though.

If you are only going to take it up too 50-65 mph, there should be no need to worry about 5th gear, as it will never shift out of 4th with full throttle from 0-65 mph. The transmission will be going through the first 4 gears only. Hey Guys,

4Th ( C2 ) can be limped almost as easily as 5th. I have been running the 110 and 135 Quad for most of the past 50,000 miles, and the truck has never had a problem with 4th gear. I am not saying it is not getting abussed, just that the zings and limps have all been either shifting from 4th too 5th, or while in 5th gear. I do have the 2002 with the LB7 engine, so I can't say how the newer ones will act.

Ran the 120 tune, daily for 5k before it limped. Then I limped it in the 85. 65 is holding but it's slow and it SUCKS. You can try the 120 a couple of times but, the hardest thing about runnin' the 120 tune is unloading it and runnin' the 85. Once you've been there you will NOT want to go back.
Start savin' for a tranny, you will need one.

That's why so far I haven't changed mine from 65 since the day I got it. I know I will never go back down once I go up, and I can't afford to give mike L all my money yet...

If you wanna play, you gotta pay. The Allison limp will get you before long...
