I went to the stealer for a locking fuel cap and they told me there was NOT one available for my 2003 GMC 2500HD. Is this true? I would like to get one as there are some mischievous kids in the neighborhood.

I was told that maybe a medium duty commercial truck dealer might be able to help me. burbanman 03-10-2005, 10:00 AM I bought a Stant locking cap from PepBoys...........it isnt listed specifically for the diesel application, but it is the same cap as the gas motors use. Been on the truck now for about 10k miles with no problems Go to what ever you local parts place, and look up the cap for your year truck with the 8.1 in it.....that cap will work fine gardnerteam 03-10-2005, 10:10 AM Bought one from the dealer for about $12 for my 02 in 02 - it is now on my 05. Book stated specifically for 2001-2004 GM diesels. rudy fontana 03-11-2005, 12:12 AM i bought one tonight for $12.99. it was for a 2004 GMC Sierra with a 8.1 engine. Fits great and looks the same. I just couldnt conntect the cap holder back onto the locking cap like it was on the original. Oh well there are trade offs.
