If I add gages (egt-boost) to my D-Max, will the dealership claim voided warranty??

Where is the best place to tap for the probe???

There is no way they can void warranty for that unless your pyro tip breaks off and causes havoc (assuming its mounted pre-turbo). It may cause them to look deeper for any hp adders that may have been installed but not just the gauges. That would be like voiding warranty for putting on a spoiler.

I doubt that just adding gauges will bother the dealer, as long as you don't have anything that looks like a tuner.

My service manager that it was a good idea to see what the stock numbers are in different situations. Of course this response will very from dealer to dealer. I think if you explain to them that you just want more instrumentation for monitoring the engine, I think you won't have any problems.

As far as tapping for the EGT and Boost, I tapped the passenger side exhaust manifold using the "Hoot Method", which can be found in the DIY category. For the boost, I tapped the intake snout. If you have an LB7, you can tee into the wastegate hose or you can purchase a port adaptor from Super Diesel who hangs out here on the forum.

I wouldnt worry about a warranty void. However, drilling and taping the manifold, if the turbo were to ever fail, may get blamed on metal getting into the turbo from the install. That would be worst case that I can figure.
