Does anyone make a programmer that will just re-calibrate tire size and gear ratios (no perfomance stuff) for the new Duramax? SuperChip doesnt make one yet for the 2007.5+ and Hyper Tech has been claiming to make one for a while. And everything else has performance settings.

I would also like to know if these programers have to stay plugged in to the port when all you want is to drop the DPF.

EFI Live and it gives you a lot of options if you decide in the future you want to add performance and also if you have other GM vehicles you can do things to them with it as well, like my kitty kat on the right bank on my 02 Avalanche grenaded. I straight piped both cats and reprogrammed it to eliminate the codes (and also added a little performance to it while I was at it, also upped the line pressure on the tranny and also...well you get the point:D) Not to mention you can purchase extra license and program your friends or families rigs too.

The ppe econ will have a few tunes just dont use them and just adjust the things you need to for calibrations . The tuner does all the things you want to do . Just dont load any tunes . Easy to use and you then can plug in and scan or clear codes also if need be .

If you only adjust for tire size, and or eliminate DPF codes, will that show up as a flash, and void the warrenty?

I Had a talk with My Service Manager and he is cool with my setup... He in fact wanted a little more info on my fuel millage cause he has an 07 classic that is giving him 13mpg... he was shocked to hear my avg is 18-19 in the city... He took me to lunch one day to make it off the record and property of the dealer just to talk about mods done to these trucks and fuel millage. to be a little cautious i explained and asked him if he would give me in writing my warranty was ok and the Dealer would service my truck for warranty work. he had no problem giving it to me on the company letterhead and signed....

I believe hyertech or procomp makes what you are looking for it just retunes for tire size and axle ratio, I saw it on 4wheel parts I think it was and I think I also saw it on procomps website for 199.00 but dont quote me on that, Josh

Dealer should easily reprogram you with a Tech II. I seen a post a few days back and my thoughts dealer can only program a few choices like 245 and 265. But this guy says Tech II can do many different sizes. Not check the post but the guy was going to take a screenshot and post the options.

Tanc,

That guy dropped the ball and never posted. My understanding was that he had the speedo and ABS screens mixed up. So he was able to plug in any size for the abs but only stock tire sizes for the speedo.

So we are stuck with either 245/75/16 (30.5") or 265/70/17 (31.6) and this would be just for the newer trucks. Classics most likely would not be able to change from stock.

The issue with that is if the truck loses power I have to take it back to them to reprogram it.

Pro-comp's programmer is made by hypertech and they dont have one for the LMM yet. The sales guys there are retarded and very unhelpful.

Are you sure I put it in my cart before whilke shopping online at 4wheel parts, and the reason I learned of a product was while at the the dealership they had a lifted LMM and had the procomp tire calibrator in the center console because they said it came with the truck and is what they used to reprogram the speedo.

Hypertech does have one for the LMM and the part number is 732003. It's a plug and play deal just like a programmer and doesn't need to be left in the truck. And 4Wheel Parts also offers one for the LMMs and we make that one as well. If you need help finding one just shoot me a PM.

I have always been told there were only a few tire choices on the Tech II. Glad to know that is still true LMM Guy.

your right a tech II scan tool can change tire size but it only give you a few to choose from. thats about it. cost ya about $30.00 to have it done. then again it all on the stealer.
