Ok guys, I'm new to this diesel scene. I do know that an EGT & Boost guages are a good thing to have if you are pulling a good load. I have also added an Oil Temp guage to the triple guage A pillar assembly, but have found that there does not seem to be an available threaded port on the oil pan except for the drain plug. Where would be a good place to put the sending unit for this guage, or did I screw up by adding this guage. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :help:

Pulls a 1995 33+2 Snowbird 5th Wheel, measures out to be 37 feet long, and 8.5 feet wide. Damn near too wide, after market mirrors don't go out quite far enough for good side view. Will be adding a rear view camera to see who's back there.

If you look on this thread someone mentions a spot on the oil filter housing that the probe threads into.

Thanks Ozzy:
I'll check out the filter location. I thought about the drain plug idea, but that seemed like a bad idea and location.

Sure am glad I came to this site.

There is a pressure port just below the oil filter on the housing. Does the sensor stick in very far? If so, that place may not work. That is where I tapped in to connect my bypass filter.

careytst,

I used the port on the oil filter head. It worked great, but the only difficult part was getting the factory plug to break free. I think they installed it with loc-tite. I had to use a cheater bar on the ratchet to get it to break loose, but once off, the temp sending unit screwed right in with no problems at all.

Good luck with it!
