The first four speeds are through resistors to reduce the current through the blower motor for reduced speeds, the #5 speed is 12 volts through a relay for full speed. The resistors and relay are all located on the little circuit board attached to the blower motor housing in the passenger footwell. Do a search on the forum for AC blower or some such, I have seen a few posts about this.

Hope this helps,:)

wiggle the harness that goes into the motor on the box and see if that helps. also check to see if it gets really hot. i have the same problem w/ mine.
