I have a block i removed from a 98 GMC 2500 pickup. # is 14022660 and it had a turbo on it. The bore size matches another 6.5 i have. It appears to have been red and the turbo oil line was plumbed to the oil sensor hole in the back of the block. Its got 2 spun bearings due to a bad cooler line and its available if anyones needing it. what is it ? a 6.5 or 6.2 Its in illinois

The only engine that came red is the 1982 6.2L. It is also considered by many to be the best of the earlier blocks because it is a high nickel block. The bad is that if it still has the original heads, they have 1 yr only course threaded long injectors.
