: Another Bullydog question

So my Bullydog is on the way now and I was wondering if when Irecalibrate for the tires if it affects the way the transmission shifts like the way Hypertech does (and did) on my '02 gasser I had. And no I did not change any shift points with the Hypertech, I am guessing that when it adjusted the PCM reading for the tires it caused the shift points to go back to a somewhat normal pattern.

From what I understand about the Dmax though is that the TCM does not get touched during any downloads but I was curious to see if by recalibrating the PCM speed readout if it affected the TCM in any way.
Thanks:grd:

I recalibrated my speedo and didn't notice any difference in shifts. The only difference should be the "learn" when you load a power program. I'm by far no expert, but this is what I have noticed.

You probably got that message for trying to calibrate for tires taller than 35-36"

Maybe it was just because it was on a powerstroke, but a F350 superduty got lit the heck up by me the other day... 2 left turn lanes, he was inside. He musta saw the banks stickers when I was just pulling away because of how I drive normal, and I heard him drop the hammer (aftermarket exhaust) so when I heard him I hit it too. I left him behind like it was a bad habit.. and the 6 gun isn't even on the truck right now because I took it to the dealer the last time I could under the 36,000 miles.

'ol fordy got smoked like a cheap cigar. Bully dog stickers and all.

Spring Breakup is coming around slowly.. think I need to put the banks back on so's I can play >:)

Yup, 37"s kinda screwy cause they advertise that your able to, but oh well putting less mileage on the odometer with bigger tires.:ro)

OK, got my Bullydog now and what a change! I got the 80 HP tune in and recalbrated for the tires. Did the transmission "relearn" and holy smokes! (yes it smokes a bit now too) It has so much more throttle response and oh does it ever love to run! I am very impressed, now if I could just get my hands on an Edge module.......:ro)

Hope you enjoy the bully dog while it lasts but mine (4 position flip), Mine just made my tranny really mess up. Inconsistent shifting or not shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 2 miles a gallon decrease. I have been told by many disel shops that bullydog was very problematic especilly while towing. SORRY

i know for a fact you have other problems dude, first off they do not have a 4 position flip switch, i have about 10 freinds running them with no problems to date, one had a problem the first time downloading to the ecm, and all good after. for mileage they are seeing about 2mpg better, and what diesel shops clame that, give us names and numbers, and the pup loves to tow, low egt temps makes it one of the better ones to tow with

you might need new injectors or a new mechanic:lol:

Go to bullydogs website and you will see the 4 position flip switch, as far as shops; collins diesel stockton, ca. - becker diesel, sacramento ca. - Blue oval diesel placerville ca. I have a 1997 350 PSD with an automatic (ATS high performance tranny with commander control for full control of torqe convertor lockup) Banks exhaust and brake, AFE air box. Injectors are fine. TRUST ME AS SOON AS I REMOVED THE BULLYDOG AND WENT TO THE SUPERCHIP THE TRANNY SHIFTED PERFECT FUEL MILAGE WENT UP AND EGTS WENT DOWN.
Sorry it seems you have had good luck with yours but I junked mine.:shake:

Fred, I don't think you guys are talkin the same language. I believe Feeder Driver is talking about a PSD upgrade not the DMAX. No "chip" for the 6.6L.
