I heard someone talking about a problem with leaking batteries. After I replaced alternator and batteries at 70k, the passenger side battery will start to leak acid within 4 months. I am on my 4th passneger side battery and this is an 02' truck. I have to take batteries to a different NAPA every time so they dont catch on and will still honor my warranty. Is there a tsb on leaky batteries?

make sure your cables are clean and tight, corroded cables will not get good contact and cause heat at the connection which could lead to leakage.

That or try a better battery?

Hey parts guy. If I ever get the truck back from the shop after the 8 injectors I will let you know which battery it is. I know that they are the "nascar" batteries but I'm not sure about the CCA.

I know that they are the "nascar" batteries but I'm not sure about the CCA.The nascar select batteries have been very good, except for the dual terminal units (8434/78) Those things are garbage..I think I've defected a dozen of them in a year...Actually, I don't even stock them anymore...

At our shop we replace a lot of delcos because of leakage problem, we use interstate and have no leaks.... so far. I put gel battery in my truck, and yes my original delco was leaking, waiting for wife's 03 to start leaking

Use Optima Batteries!!!!!!!! The Best. You Are Going To Spend About $75.00 On An Acid Battery So Why Not Spend $110.00 And Never Worry About Re-placeing Them Again.. P. S I Had Same Problem

Scott C, Are both your batteries a match set. Having two differrent batterys can cause problems. One battery can cause the alt to slightly over charge, and boil the other batt.

Thanks for the heads up on the leaking batteries.
Where on the battery case are the batteries leaking? Around the posts?
Thanks
