I can't keep them on the shelf. With the tire size adjustments you enter the size of the tire and the speedo gets calibrated. The speed limiter gets bumped up another 25mph which lets you top out at about 120mph. The biggest thing my customers like is how the truck gets into tc lock up sooner and that if you need to go back to the dealer you just plug the tuner in and return the truck to stock.

Isn't this the same thing the Predator does?

I have had my '05 D/A programmed with the superchips tuner for about a month now on the 80HP setting. It makes a huge difference in performance. My fuel milage has gone up around 2 mpg highway (hand calculated). My main reason for getting it was the tire calibration. I am running 285/75/16 and I have calibrated my speedo to within .3 mph at 70 (checked by gps).

Is the Superchips permanently locked to VIN?

Will they take an existing "locked forever" unit in for credit?

I have one that didn't increase the HP on my Camaro still sitting on the shelf. Can't resell it and they wouldn't let me return it.

The new superchips model number 2704 for the LLY becomes unlocked when the factory setting is restored. I'm not sure about the model that programs the LB7.

reading this i was just curious if the superchips would be too much for a stock trans. I am preparing to buy a tuner, but i definitely can't afford for the tranny to go out. I was lookin around on here and hypertech seemed to be the way to go for the money, but if the superchip micro tuner puts out more power for about the same cash without destroying my trans, i would like to know before i buy something.

I have been running my '05 D/A on the middle setting for about a month and haven't had any problems. On the highest setting (125HP), it hauls @$&. I only ran it on the highest for a day or so. When you really get on it (125HP setting), it has a lot of power and tends to shift really hard, and I am afraid that it can't be good on the tranny. As I stated earlier, the programmer worked great for recalibrating my speedo. Also, yesterday I beat a '02 powerstroke with a superchips programmer on the highest setting. I only had mine on the middle setting.
