I installed the PPE Boost valve yesterday and went for a little drive. Before I installed it I was seeing a max boost 21-22 PSI. I am now getting 23 -24 PSI. The turbo does seem to spool faster but that might be my imagination. I am running tune 2 on the PPE Standard programmer. In order to see 28-30 PSI as advertised, would I have to be running more aggressive tunes? I will only go up to the next tune with my stock tranny for now. I was just curious if anyone else with the LB7 is seeing higher PSI than what I am getting. I know I installed it correctly. It goes Turbo, boost gauge, Boost Valve, Waste Gate which I confirmed with Dan at PPE.

Are the arrows pointed in the right direction on the boost valve?
Yes I would increase tune to benefit from it fully. But....get that tranny done first.

Did you make sure the valve is facing the right way with arrows pointing twards waste gate? Also make sure there is no dirt in the vent hole. A more aggressive tune will dump more fuel into the engine which produces more exhaust which drives the trubo. So yes a higher hp setting should give you more boost as long as the valve is working right. Might not be enough exhaust on level two. Be careful with that stock tranny. Don't abuse it too much. Try level three and see what you get.

that sounds pretty normal. on a more aggressive tune you will most likely see 26-28 but right now i'd say you're fine. remember it's not boost that makes power.

Thanks for the replies. I do have the arrows pointing the right way on the valve. I actually did install it backwards at first but revearsed it right away before I ever started the truck.
