This seems to be getting worse. When I open my door after the engine is shut off, my radio won't turn off and the interior lights won't turn on. It seems like it does it worse/more often when it's really hot outside. Whether or not there is any coorelation or not, I don't know. Doesn't this sound like the door swith in the door? Where the heck is that bloody thing? Is it behind the door panel? I have an extended cab and have been unable to locate it.

It is in the latch iternally, most likely need a door latch. Do you have any other malfunctions from the door? You may also have a broken wire between the door and the pillar due to movement of the harness.

Nope just that. I still have extended warranty until 100k (4k away!!) hopefully that will take care of it. I just thought maybe the "button" was all gunked with crap and I could clean it up.
Almost forgot to add. I can open and shut the door a couple of times and it will finally work.

I have the same problem. Also the delay door locks do not function. The truck thinks that the driver door is still closed when this happens.

It is absolutely driving me insane. . . i've got to get it in, or maybe I'll just fix it.
Is it the entire door handle assembly?

Any news on this issue? Mine is doing the same and I'd like to fix it myself.

Probably the latch switch in the driver's door lock. Common problem on many vehicles. Of course the wire could be broken also.

I had the same problems and removed, cleaned, and reinstalled the door lock actuator and that fixed it. I did both front doors while I was at it.
Here's a thread on door panel removal post # 7 and others:

With the door panel off look for wiring problems as suggested above.
Then, the door lock actuator is screwed to the door with 3 torx drive screws, has rods for door lock knob and door handle and a couple of electrical plug-ins. As heymccall said "it looks like a 21st Century mouse trap.
I used brake cleaner and spray dry lube to service it.
