Hello, I am new diesel owner and after just one month and 1000 miles I will never go back to a gasser again. I have a quick question though, Is it normal to hear more engine (rattle) not sure what else to call it) in the upper RPM's? Such as in a downshift to pass. IT seems when dropping a gear at about 2500 rpms the engine rattles more till it up shifts then quiets down again. Any insight would be great. Thanks and I love this site:D

At 2500 RPM the Pilot injection shuts off because it can no longer keep up. This is why you hear more clatter and it is completely normal.
