Last week truck was idling while I was loading some siding. It stalled a couple of times and then would start but not idle, then wouldn't start at all. Towed home changed fuel filter and primed, still won't fire. Towed to dealer and they called and said they are putting injectors in it.
This doesn't sound like the usual cases of bad injectors that you normally read about. What do you guys think?
Also, is there anything other than an oil change that I should make sure that they do along with the injectors?

1. ive had three sets of injectors. first set idled rough, blew white smoke, ran crappy but got great fuel mileage. second set, same symptoms until finally it became harder and harder to start until finally a no start. filter fully primed and all. if you were lucky to get it started, it would idle and quit.
2. dealer should change oil and filter, coolant, fuel filter, injector sleeves, and necessary gaskets.....techs that have done this work will chime in maybe.

Still waiting on my truck. Won't be done until next week.
Kid that works at the dealer told my brother they started my truck with ether. I have heard that it can be very hard on the motor. Is this something that I should be upset about? Or is this an acceptable way of troubleshooting?

anyone care to elaborate on jpolak's resonse?
What could have been damaged? Could it cause any long term problems that I may not see right away?

Well,
I bought a D-Max that some idiot tried starting with ether.
Ended up having like 5 bent pushrods and two broken valves.. You don't want to go there.
Nothing could happen, but it could just as easily be worse then what mine had.

Sorry I didn't give much more of an explanation...these trucks have glow plugs and intake air heaters.
As you know eather is extremely flammable, and it has the possibility to toast a motor just trying to crank the engine over. Not saying that every time someone does it it happens, just that the possibility is there.
Like pl_silverado said, he had engine damage from someone doing to the truck before he bought it.
that could have been a very expensive mistake.....
