Had an '03 one ton and the front tires wore on the inside. Rotated them every 5k and got 50k out of them and replaced them. Had an alignment done and they said the alignment was slightly off. New tires same problem. It was a company vehile and I didn't pay too much attention. I did however have a lot of weight in the front part of the cargo.

Now I have an '07 with the same problem, however, not as bad and I have shifted some of the weight back further.

Is this how the van is supposed to wear tires? It drives fine, handles well.

Would those Timbren bumpers help in the front? Anyone know about these Timbrens and explain a bit more about them please?

Mine did the same thing, at just over 60k miles. I am not into rotating except for the rears when I swap them out for the snows. Fronts stayed on the front.
Most of the vans I see the front tires do look tilted in at the top. Maybe the spec is off from the start. I need to visit a frame shop where the aligment guy is the best around and see what he thinks.
I had a bad iler arm already, I bet that didn't help out at all.
The other thing I want to try, I load the front of the van up as well, is GM has a high capacity front spring for the vans for front heavy cargo.

Was it that or heavier front sway bars or maybe both? I remember seeing that in the window sticker of the cutaway vans. It was intended for higher center of gravity vehicles.

Another thing I was told by the GM garage years ago when the boxy style vans were still around is that I was going though front upper and lower control arm bushings at a fast rate and he said vans commonly have that problem because you can get heavy weight to the front axle easier with a van than a pickup and a lot of folks don't realize it.

My van wears the same but it does not bother me since I always get about 50k on a set of tires. My last van has 300k with all original front end parts.

I have just over 31k on this set and plan on going 50k and then replace them. It doesn't bother me much, I'm just curious.

With the wear inside the tire, the van probably corners much better.

The 06' lly was able to get 40k out of the stock tires and when I had them changed all 4 were a 0/32,even wear. My 02' 2500 I have to have the front aligned about every 30K and they wear on the inside fronts and that's being rotated every 10k. I had it adjusted where they didn't wear and I felt like I was driving a bowl of Jello. So I will take the wear.

I've got an 800 pound machine sitting right behind the seats, goes back just shy of the side doors. 65 gallons of fresh water and anywhere from 0-70 gallons of 'dirty' water also infront of rear axle. misc equipment and chemicals behind rear axle. I've got 44000 on my original tires, even wear so far, and I probably will get 60000 out of them. I don't know if its the tires or constant weight or not seeing as much highway miles, but my 07 classic p/u dmax got 72000 on original tires and they gave me trade in $ on them. I haven't had an ailgnment or any front end work on the van yet, and it is still straight on the highway.
