Hi, Have a buddy with out computer skills in a 03 duramax like mine, except he has a edge chip (pre-in cab stuff). He has gotten 2 mystery stalls in the past week and set code P0335. That has to do with the crank position sensor, but can it also be related to the edge? Heard they give phantom problems, is this likely to be one or should he crack open the check book and take some yoga classes for forward flexibility?

Ya i would go with edge on that one. When i had my edge i had that happen probably three times. Not a single time since it's been out.

Update,

I helped him change out the pre-filter and regular filter. Pre-filter was only 1/2 full of fuel. Regular filter was 7/8 full of fuel. The Pre-filter was dirty top to bottom, but regular one had some life left, but was close to full black.

No calls about it stalling yet. Should I stay on alert or stand down?

I was getting ready to post the same problem!! I have an 02 dmax that does that about 1 or 2 times a month it seems. It never did that untill I installed the edge box about 5 months ago. The truck just shuts off while driving. No smoke no check engine light. Just the battery light comes on and the truck just surges untill it comes to a stop or you put it into N. Then starts right back up and runs with no problems. I think I might take it off for a month and see what that does. Anybody else had the same problem????

I have the same question with my Edge unit. It's been in my truck for about 7 months with no problems. Two weeks ago, I went to the grocery store and when I came out my truck wouldn't start. Had it towed to a shop and a couple hours later they called to say it started right up for them, but had a CPS code, P0335. I had them install a new CPS, and today the same thing happened. I left it where it died and came back with my scanner a couple hours later. I had another CPS code, but it started right up and I got it back in the driveway.

Should I contact Edge about this, or do I have more issues with the CPS? It seems if it were a problem with the Edge unit, it should have happened sometime after I installed it. Why would the problem show up now?

My experience says to start with the Edge (disconnect). I was a tester for them and went through 3 versions. The last one seemed to finally work ...... until 2 weeks ago. It is now 2 yrs old and the old familiar shutdown has returned. Took it off and no problems. May/may not be your problem, but obviously was mine.

The problem resurfaced today when I tried to go to lunch. Jumped out and unplugged the Edge and the truck fired right up. Edge wants me to drive it for awhile and see if the CPS will throw a code again. I think it's the Edge unit because when it happened before, the truck wouldn't start until a couple hours had gone by. Today it fired up as soon as I could get back in the truck.

I had similar problems. Removed my edge and it ran great for about 6 weeks. When it died and wouldn't re-start. Had to have reluctor ring repaired for CPS. Edge has now been back in for about 6 weeks without a hiccup. Seems that the edge was just magnifying problem with the CPS that was slowly getting worse.

Thats not to say though that you don't have a bad edge module. I was ready to throw mine in the trash until the truck started dying with it removed.

Im sure if my business had as many foul ups as Edge does.........I wouldnt have any business. Curious to why nothing but a "reflash" is suppose to fix it. I went through the same bull with my Quad Stealth2. Reflash, reflash.....what the hell is this suppose to do....it always went back to the same funny issues as before the flash.

I apologize but some of these products these companies make are pieces of crrrrrrrrap.

I do not have an Edge, but my truck is throwing this code. Is this sensor something that the average DIYer can R & R?
