Anybody using MOLY addtive in thier oil? Was thinking about using it but the price is high, $59 a gallon, enough for 4 oil changes. Using Schaeffer blend now which has some moly in it.

Bill, better IMO to stick with the Schaeffers. If your adding stuff to your oil, you could do more harm then good

I used to use Conklin parasynthetic, it had moly in it. It seemed to be great stuff. My dealer died and later I moved away and I quit using it for no good reason.

Not adding anything to the Schaeffers 7000, its a blend and has some MOLY in it. At one time MOLY was known to have some problems . One was corrosion under some conditions but I've forgotten the details. Thanks for the advice. Hope you don't freeze up there. I used to live over south of Pontiac a few miles, left there in 46 to go into the service and have only went back for visits. Retired in San Antonio now.
