:help:

Sorry about what seems like a basic question but I am not sure if my truck is lifted or not. I don't believe it is but since I purchased her used, I am not really sure. This has come up because I am going to purchase four Ranchon 9000 shocks while they have the sale going on and I must specify modification in order to get the correct shocks. When looking a my rear axle there is 2-3" spacer block between the axle and leaf springs. Is this original or added? I have done many Google searches looking for a photo or diagram but have come up with nothing. Anyway, thanks in advance for any replies. If someone can could provide a link or photo that would be great.

Thanks, Don

i would think that it was added because when i put my 2 1/2" blocks in, the leafs sat right on the axle stock. Check and see if the torsion bar ajuster bolts are turned in all the way That would also be a good sign sumone might have lifted it a couple inches. Also r the tires stock size?

Stock rims, 285 tires. I am aware that by adjusting the torsion bars you can raise the front of your truck. Assuming the front was raised this way, How do I tell if this was done to compensate for a 2" spacer in the rear?

Since you have 285s ill go out on a limb and say yes sumone did lift it .The front was probably raised to clear the 285 tires because i believe they will rub at stock height As for the origanal question the front shocks can be replaced with the same size, but the rear shocks should be a little longer so they dont break when the suspension is at full extention. When i put my blocks in i also went with rancho 9000 shocks in the rear i could probably get the part number for you if you want . Hope this helps and good luck

Well, here is a photo. I am assuming this block was added. Is that correct? The block only raises the leaf spring by 1 3/8". I guess the front was lifted using the torsion bars.

That's a stock block there, If it was lifted in the rear you'd have another block placed in between the springs and perch.

that's not a block it's the spring perch(mount) on the axle. The rear is stock. Does it sit level? If so then go for 2" longer shock, stock length will bottom out during extension. I had to add washers to mine to lengthen them when I cranked T bars
