Has anyone straight piped a 03. I have no cat and was wondering if cutting out the muffler would screw anthing up or void my warranty in anyway. Do this motors rely on a lot of back pressure.

Noise is not bad at all with the windows up. Has a very good sound IMO.

Mine has been straight pipe for a while. It's great. Stock 3.5" system, just
muffler delete. A touch loud at 2am....................OK in the cab, but
nasty outside.

Just cut the muffler off close, leaving a bit to slide on the pipe.
This one is from Husker.

Would it still pass emissions in Colorado?

2loud, is that the aluminum or stainless pipe? That looks great! I am using 4" flex pipe right now, would the flex pipe affect air flow?

cheeky,

I've been running a straight 4" turbo-back pipe for about a year and a half now...It sounds great!:grd:

I dont think your going to pass emmissions anywhere with a straight pipe, I have a 4' Banks Exhaust and am thinking about deleting the muffler, its to dang loud for me though. You can find muffler delete pipes on ebay for as cheap as 45 bucks, i dont know about stainless but i bet you can find them cheap

I don't know about other states, but in alaska I believe diesels don't have an emissions test. (or so I have been told) I don't see how not having a muffler on it would cause you to fail emissions. Mufflers are only for sound. Now, if your truck came with a cat and they could prove that you took it out, that would be a different story.
