Do valve cover have to come off mto replace the glow plugs? Mine need changed truck was hard starting last winter

RPDAVID 08-31-2008, 01:37 PM Make sure your glow plug controller is working. When the engine is cold just take a 12v test light at one of the GP's turn the key on/wait position, it should light up. DO NOT take VC off they are below the VC,5/16" socket for the connector and I think a 10 or 12 mm for the GP.......easy job! TheBac 08-31-2008, 01:47 PM BUT -- everything I've read here also states to be EXTREMELY careful when removing the glowplugs, because if you break one off in the head you are out of luck.
