I would guess if you priced out a current half ton and added $5-6K to the price, that would be about right.

ie the almost fully loaded 1500 4X CC with the 5.3 I priced out today was about $42,000 so with new Dmax about $47-$48.

I am sorry guys but who in their right mind is gonna pay 48-58,000 for a half ton diesel? I know I wouldnt, no way, not gonna happen and noone I know would either and I have alot of friends with more money than sense that is just too much for a half ton. I cant see it when you can go buy a new truck for $20K with power windows and locks and cd player that ges 20mpg's. That new diesel will have to get 35 mpg's to make up the difference even over many years. Maybe if they make it available for around 26-27K with power windows and locks and cd, cloth etc. I could see that.

If GM is still around to build it, it will be pricey.

well for your info a 1500 is a half ton and a 2500 is 3/4 ton but fully loaded for 58k for a 2500 and 53k for the denai 1500 awd both with the option duramax 4.5

Oh they will be around still. The gov already gave Furd money to cover thier ass cause they gave too many nice retirement packages out to those who worked for them over the years.

There no way it going to be 50k. last month I bought a 1500 sle regular cab with 8 foot bed for 23K and a 2k rebate off that. If you add 7k for engine it would only be 28k.

its not going to be over 50k but close to it. member this is a diesel duramax not a gas power like what you may have. the upgrade is 6k for the 4.5 duramax and allison trans.

I don't think the 4.5 will have the ally behind it.

there will not be the allison behind it. it's supposed to use the HD 6 speed that is in there already. seriously guys if GM want's to sell these, they CAN NOT afford to price it too high. Look at Jeep. the diesel option in the grand cherokee is only like 1500 if that. the 3/4 1 ton's have ALOT on them, and a little oil burnner that is not supposed to be SUPER HUMAN like the big trucks SHOULD be priced accordingly
