Went to the track last night and made a few small tweaks to the tune I went 12.53 on last week. Ran a 12.44 @ 107, 7.90 @ 87 in the 1/8 and cut a 1.69 60'. There was a Mustang Mach 1 (99-04 body style) that was running mid 12s on a 150 shot that everyone was talking about and watching so I lined up with him and spanked him. Came back and everyone was talking about the Mustang getting beat by a 7000 lb truck running on motor. A few more tweaks and I might see 12.3s. Looking to do cheater slicks and headers and up-pipes soon so I might see 11s on a stock bottom end, single stock LBZ CP3 motor - with a "stock appearing" turbo. Video of me spanking the stang to come. Timeslip is in the timeslip database.

Haven't dynoed it yet, figured I'd wait until I hit a plateau at the track. Every week it is getting faster with small tuning tweaks - last week I was at 12.53. After I plateau I will dyno it before the headers and up-pipes then after without touching the tuning. I was say I'm in the 620hp range.

quick question for ya....

when launching in 4wd, does the front end typically come up quite a bit? I have new rear shocks, but the fronts are toast so maybe they are letting the front go skyward.

I was practicing boosted 4wd launches and the one that worried me was almost 10lbs of boost, the front jumped up, the LF tire hopped and broke loose along with both rears and I shut it down right away for fear of breaking something.

my t-bars are barely cranked and I do have sleeves (have idler/pitman braces but not installed yet)

just trying to see if I pushed it too hard or if that is normal and I can continue trying to leave like that.

thanks and congrats and some nice times.

I need to get to a track so I can see where mine is at. I'd be really happy with a 13.0

Install your braces and crank the bars down so the CV's are level. That's how i run. I also leave with around 10lbs too. Straight as an arrow with no wheel hop or spinning.

Don't no about 620rwhp with your race weight being about the same as mine. But let us know what it rolls

Nice runs

Waiting for Winston to get the video uploaded so that I can post links on our site and here.

Cheetah 71mm

I have new shocks all around, sleeves and straight centerlink and run with torsion bars down all the time. I also have a locker in the front so when I do launch too hard it burns all 4, but yes if I launch too hard it will pick the front end up really bad, otherwise it's not too bad. I was gonna call NorCal truck about some shocks to slow the rebound for pulling and the track. I don't think you pushed it too hard but when you do get new shocks I would call NorCal and have them set you up with some that have a really stiff rebound.

I have all the same mods that Fleece ran 640 with on an LBZ so once I get done with tuning I think 620+ is what it will put down but we will see.

I already have the shocks, just need to put them in (did the rears last weekend). they are the RS9000s so I can crank them up quite a bit and see if it helps.

thanks for the info from both of you. I'm only in the 485rwhp range, but it seems to run pretty strong. would love to do more, but I don't think it's a good idea for my DD ;)
