<!--StartFragment -->It's time to replace my oil's:Front and rear diff and tranny.
I did this once for tranny and rear diff from recommended oils on this site. I can't seem to find that post now.
I remember using Mobil 1 synthetic (I think) in the rear diff and forget what I used in the tranny. I forget what weight oil I need in the rear diff.
I added the Mag-Hytec pan and cover to the tranny and rear diff as well. I believe the rear diff now takes 8 quarts but how much does the tranny now take?
So I need a rec for:
Front diff
rear Diff
Transmission
Type, weight, and amount.
Thanks!

I have Mobil 1 75w90 in my front diff and Royal Purple Max-gear 75w90 in the rear diff. I wanted Mobil 1 in both, but there wasn't a parts store within 20 miles of my house with enough Mobil 1 for both.
In my Allison I have Mobil 1 ATF. In my T-case I have Mobil 1 ATF as well.
I'm going to try some Auto-Trak II in my T-case because the dealer thinks it will help with the rear end clunk.

mobil 1 75 90 in front and rear, 2 quart front 4 rear. Mobil 1 atf in the tc, 2 quarts.
I run mobil 1 in the trans and the stuff rocks!!!! Duno how much a stock alli holds, I cant remember, somwere around 20 quarts with a shallow pan and a stock converter? Its a bit harder to switch over to syn trany fluid. Mobil 1 is good stuff though. But if your not beating on your truck or towing or live in a toasty climate ect. using regular atf from valvoline or mobil or the like and just draining and refilling the pan once a year or so depending on milage/use ect may be the way to go. I plow snow and am in the habbit of once a year the trany gets serviced. If your just draining the pan you need much less than the 20......but it depends on what pan you have.

I got my tranny a tad warm last weekend in the sand so I should also change the filter.
Do I need to drop the pan to get to the filter?
Thanks for the info all!

the internal filter just needs to be changed at overhaul. Change your spin on every oil change or so depending on your oil change intervall. at least every 10k IMO. dont forget the magnet! You dont need to drop the pan to change the spin on filter. Unscrew it and clean the magnet, place the mag on the new filter, fill the new filter up with ATF of your choice and screw it back on. You would need to drop the pan to change the internal filter though......
