The NVG 4500 4wd unit in my truck gave out. If you look at the lower gear it's out of line and metal fragments surround it. So far the best used price is $500 and the best rebilt price is $1150.

My solution I came up with is to rebuild it myself and since I have to pull it apart to see how bad it is, I'm pulling my 4L80E today and taking it to town with me where I have more indoor space to install the master rebuild I already have. I'll get it done in a week at least and I'll be able to use my dad's '96 to get some paying work done. Semi-crazy 03-07-2005, 02:22 PM Do you have any better pics QM? It souldn't be that hard to rebuild and the master rebuild kit is fairly cheap. I found a used one for $1000.00 but we deicided to rebuild mine for just a few bucks more dkubek 03-10-2005, 10:45 PM QM, when my 4wd NV4500 went I bought a rebuilt one from All Standard in Indianapolis for , don't quote me, $799. I know it was at least under a grand. Look them up online and see what they have if you haven't already fixed it. quantum mechanic 03-10-2005, 11:40 PM I just blew my wod on my 4L80E rebuild and deceided to do this one myself. I'm going to pull it apart, order the gears to be eplaced and a manual. It's funny but reading the repair manual for the 4L80E helped me to deceide to let someone else do it. This tranny is simple in comparison. | ||
