Ok this may seem like a dumb question, but im going to ask it. My tailgate doesnt seem to shut right. You have to slam it to get the catches to engage on the posts, and sometimes when going down the road it will just open. Is there a way to adjust? I have tried loosing the bolts and sliding the mechanisms in so they would sit closer to the post, but it doesnt seem to help. Is there something simple I am missing?

I have the same problem. I am not sure what it is. Someone told me that some pivot points inside the tail gate may need lubrication. I am taking it in for service next month and this is an item on my list.

There are rubber bumpers near the hinges on mine that I lopped the ends off......problem gone

I was out looking at it tonight and was thinking the same thing. The rubbers are hitting pretty hard it looks like. I will try to remove them and see if it helps.
