hey guys i got a problem. our 5500 chevy 4x4 is a rough riding SOB. whenever we are offroad it jostles the crap out of us. is there anything we can do? new shocks, air bags etc? its always at its max gvw.

also is there an after market air filter system? we have broken the air filter housing numerous times. its just a junk design.

K&N makes an intake for it. As for the ride get bags for the front and rear. Thats about as good as its going to get

what bags do you recommend? also how much?

i have an afe on my dmax. i noticed they make a stage 1 setup for this truck. anyone have experience with this?

well to start off get bigger rims
get rid of those 19.5s
get air ride seats
then get the air bag suspension
with stiffness selector
true the housing for the air filter is crap my suggestion is fabricate your own with aluminum and get that afe filter

Kelderman Air Ride makes a front air bag set up. Think it's about $2500.00. Looks pretty easy to install. or get new front leaf springs, Deaver Springs seem to be the best set up. Several here are using them. They say difference is nite n day. Deavers are a traditional spring set up (multi leaf). Heard they about the same in cost. Probly better for 4x4.

we did look about getting larger rims and tires.

as far as air ride seats i dont think the seats we have are factory. i could be wrong but im not sure?

the air bag setup would be nice but i dont think we can pop 2,500 for that. it would have to be cheaper b4 they would bite.

kelderman air wont get any cheaper , and if they wont bite for 2500, the the air ride seat are out too , and the bigger rims and tires ,so i think your stuck ,unless the deside to liten up on the budget or u guys are just gonna have to get tougher, if your at capacity all the time with water in there the truck should ride a lil better being loaded, but the only thing i see that is in there budget is a air ride kit for the cab
