the hour meter on ym wife's 07 is ascting up. I just noticed the other day that it reads 60. something hours. I don't drive it alot so I was thinking that's pretty low hours for 18k miles. then I checked my records and it should have more like 500 or 600 hours on it.
what's going on with it? is this a known issue?
thank you

This was pretty common last year. The hour meters reset for no reason. I am not sure why. Try and search for "hour meter" and see if you can locate them. I am not sure what the fix was, but I do know that it was happening to a few members! Sorry I couldn't be of any more help!

I had that happen to mine along with the radio resetting to 12:00. After 3 trips to the dealer, one new instrument cluster and two new radios, the diagnosis was one of the batteries was bad. They replaced the battery under warranty and haven't had it happen again.

Whats an average number per year?
My dealer uses 30 mph. Has been pretty accurate for me over a number of years. They check the odometer againts the hour meter to see if it was set back.

her truck just went in for an egr fault/code and i asked them to check out the hour meter and the leaking trans cooler lines. said they found no leaks (didn't look in the right spot cause i saw them). they said one of the batteries for the dash cluster is bad. we're waiting on a new battery to come in.
I didn't know there werebatteries for the instrument cluster?
they cleaned the egr but told her the check engine light might come back on and it did.
