The booster is pretty easy to change out. Just time consuming, but what is no while working on a vehicle?
Wish you luck!

I might be confused here....but it sounds to me like your master cylinder is leaking. You should not have power steering fluid leaking anywhere near the master cylinder......unless someone put PS fluid in the master cylinder.

Check the PS hoses coming from Master Cylinder first.

The power brake booster on GM diesel trucks is powered by the power steering pump. The boosters are connected to the system with two hydraulic hoses. The boosters will eventually develop a leak. Mine did, so I swapped in a unit on my own. It was a rebuilt unit with a lifetime warranty. It was time consuming, as access to the four nuts that secure the booster to the firewall are buried up under the dash, near where the steering column goes through the firewall. It took some scraped knuckles and a lot of ratchet extensions, but I got the job done. There was no need to remove the brake lines or open that system. You simply move the master cylinder to the side, while swapping out the booster.

Hydro-Booster.

It can be re-built pretty easily. I did mine 2-3 years ago and no leak since. There was a kit that was availible with the rubber rings $15-$30 if I remember correctly. I took some photos and posted them here. I will look and see if I can find that thread.

I'm not sure if the kit is still available or not.

Here is the thread
