my brake fluid resivoir was leaking from the orings that connect it to the mastercylinder. so i bought a reman. mastercyl. complete w/resivoir but i cant get the air out. tried the old fashion way with two people and with our BG brake bleeder/flush machine but still no pedal pressure. is there a trick to bleed these brakes?

Did you bench bleed your master cylinder before the install? I made the mistake of not doing this on a 1979 chevy. I spent months driving and bleeding the brakes before they worked right again.

What is a bench bleed and how do you do it?

Most instructions say to use a vise, (thus BENCH bleed), but with your helper in the truck, you can loosen and tighten the brake lines where they leave the master cylinder and bleed it just like a wheel cylinder.

Yes a vice is nice to have! I bench bleed a master cylinder on a tailgate. I will try to explain but I agree with the above statement google it.
First fill the master cylinder with brake fluid. Then get a line our something that can put fluid from the connectors back into the resouvor. Then pump master cylinder till not more air comes out. You would push with the wooden part of a hammer our what ever you can find to push it in. Just keep pushing till you dont see no more air bubbles. Once you mount it on the truck start bleeding the brakes from the wheel farthest away from the master cylinder. usually the passanger side rear tires brakes. Then work your way around farthest to closest. Usually in this order passanger side rear, drivers side rear, passanger side front, and drivers side front. Keep doing this till you see no more air in the lines.

Usually when I bleed my brakes I use one of those vacume puller / brake bleeder gadgets. Then it can turn into a one man project. This entire process is very time consuming I reccomend in having some beer on hand. It will make it more fun! :D

Any other questions?
Wish you luck!
