: this 2006 is gonna last.
fanzdslpwr 08-28-2008, 02:35 PM talking to one of the guys in my township today that works for public works. they are getting rid of their old gm diesels and buying new duramaxes. long story short he wasn't sure of the year on the gm diesels if they were the 6.2 or 6.5. but the one he drives had over 630,000 miles on it. no major problems and they ran those trucks on the cheapest oil they could buy in bulk. the trucks weren't treated too well either. if they can get that kind of odometer reading on those trucks imagine what i can get on my 2006.

That is impressive, I like to see it in person though..
Ttype455 10-14-2008, 12:52 PM That's crazy miles on a truck. I did read on here somewhere about a cummins doing over 1,000,000...yes a million. It was some rodeo clown that travels around the country.

Sounds impressive until you realize it was probably one of the early trucks that makes 160hp. :D
Donovan 10-14-2008, 05:44 PM If you keep throwing money into maintenance and replacement parts why not......
Norcal chris 10-14-2008, 07:58 PM My last truck was a 96 Dodge 12v and when i got rid of it it had 343,000 miles on it;) pushing 500hp and still runs like a champ....
TDMAX07 10-14-2008, 08:09 PM Take a look at Horizon Transport Inc. website under pickup delivery and look at the driver testimonials there is a 94 or 95 Dodge that has over a 1,000,000 mile on it. These guys are pulling campers all the time. The driver page has not been updated in quite a while though. Our LBZ's are supposed to be better engines than the older diesel so I believe with a good service schedule these trucks should last a long time. Of course if we beat on them all the time they may not but as far as normal use these things should go a long time.
Lennox69 10-15-2008, 03:03 PM it's funny how bar talk is always second source. it could be the second engine for all he knows, i work for a large company and most of our employees don't know when we replace worn out engines all they see is the odoemeter.
tinypeckerwood 10-15-2008, 09:22 PM ^^^^^^^^^^^^ I agree with you on that.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
But I used to have a fleet of old fords w/ the 6.9's in them. Several had 500K on them. You couldn't always get them to start, but when you did they would just go and go.
fanzdslpwr 10-16-2008, 05:22 PM no its not bar talk. the man i talked to worked for my township for 18 years now. so he would no if it was replaced.
Accord_boy619 10-18-2008, 03:15 PM Damn! 600K, our old '00 6.5 only had 60k till it crapped out. But then again we beat the shit out of our trucks.
