Came out with 2 new injectors. I went in for a oil and fuel filter change. Told the dealer it has been smoking a little on idle and a little rough idle from time to time, they checked it out and said 2 of the injectors needed replaced. I have 10K miles on the truck. Anyone else experienced this? It seems to be running real smooth after the work, but I only have about a 100 miles since then. :eek:

hmm. haven't had that. i do have smoke at idle a little but my injector balancing looks great. so i never checked it out. maybe i'll bring it in some time this coming week.

I had this happen at 500 miles. I had no luck with my normal dealer, so I took it to socaldieseltech. He checked to make sure I had the latest flash, then he hooked up his Tech 2 to the truck. I had a injector that was out of spec.

Your best investment right away would be to put an extra fuel filter on. I got a Racor with a heater in the bowl and a WIF sensor with it. Greg Landuyt sells the kit or you can get it from Oregon Fuel Inection.

I had thought a little about the second fuel filter, there is lots of people that like them. I had planned on just changing my 1 every 10K per duramxallitech's recomended service schedule.

I went to my dealer today saying I had rough idle and smoke and showed him the Bulliten that I found here. After it was all done he said he reflashed it. I am wondering how I would really know if they did?? Can I do a Vin check or something? I sent my Banks out last week to get it flashed as well. I was kinda hoping the dealer would show me the balance rates of my injectors just for the knowledge.
Is there a tool out there that the consumer can purchase to find out the rates of the injectors ourselves?
