Hey guys,

Just got my truck last friday, and was wondering what kind of things I should be looking for on this truck as far as leaks or any other common mechanical failures. I have noticed that when I turn the wheels, I hear somewhat of a clunk. Not sure if it is the clunk everyone is talking about but I would imagine so. Also, it has 74,400 miles on it. I dont think the EGR has been blocked off. I know I need to block it off, but should I take all of the egr related parts off and clean them out? I'm not sure what the pipes are that are effected by the EGR. I'm still learning.

Thanks Guys.

What truck? Sig says 6.5L and this is the (late LLY\LBZ page). IF your at 74K and haven't blocked the EGR why don't wait all the way to 100K when it is completely out of warranty. Steering clunk, glow plug recall and trans lines are the most common. Turn the wheels and here a clunk? Steering shaft will clunk going straight and you should be able to feel it in your left foot. I found the best way to check for Steering shaft clunk is on the smoothest road. You will here a clunk and almost a rattle over the smallest bumps.

Yeah, I think I do have the steering clunk. I can here it/feel it clunking around over bumps and can feel it when I turn the wheel.
