Somewhere on the internet I seen an article and schematic on how to wire the clearance lights so you can flash them when passing or being passed. It worked both when lights were on or off. Does anyone remember seeing this article?
Thanks

Poorloser, I had installed marker lights on one of my vehicles that come factory with out, I wired them into my dash lights. kind of an effect like you are talking about, I can dim them or shut them off with out affecting any other exterior lights.

So you want to be able to flash all of your park lights? Or just your cab roof lights? It is relatively easy to do both. It would help me to know what you have for a truck.

Thanks for the reply Max Power,
I have an 03 1 Ton with D/A and I would like to flash the clearance lights on truck and trailer with one switch and have it work if the lights are on or off. I have the wiring all worked out I think. I was just trying to see who had originaly done this. I got the idea somewhere on the internet but lost track of where. Any help will be appeciated but I don't need to hear that it isn't neccessary to do it because I am going to do it that way.

I added a momentary contact push button to the A-pillar gauge pod. Depressing the pb will cause the trailer lights to flash on or off depending on the state of the truck’s headlights.
My installation required no splicing or tapping of the vehicle’s wiring so technically, I could return it to factory original by simply pulling the relays and reinstalling the trailer running light fuse in the underhood box.
The process involves 2 relays, an inline fuse holder, a pair of fuse taps. Actually, I used 3 relays because the little pb switch couldn’t handle the amp load. That’s ok cause I can hear the relay click when I push the switch.

Thanks for the reply Washboy,
It sounds like this is the setup that I had seen earlier. Did you post it somewhere a couple months ago? I sure would appreate it if you could contact me and let me know where you put the fuse-taps and where you picked up the 12V power from. When I first seen this schematic I made a sketch of it but am missing a few details.
Thanks

Is there any way to find which fuses you used your fuse taps in?
