How important is or does the batt discharge protection provide adequate protection for towing a travel trailer. Puzzled DMax owner.

Usually a battery isolator is used for vehicles that stay connected to the tow vehicle all the time.

I have thought about adding one to my trailer but, the only time I have the trailer connected to the truck is when I'm towing it. Otherwise, the trailer is disconnected.

Now if you were dry camping, that may be a different story.
