My LLY has the complete trailer package. The 12V red wire is not powered even when the truck is on. I have looked in the manual, no answers. The same extra loom for a fifth wheel or slide in camper has no power on the red either, the rest of the harness works fine.
I have been towing with this truck since it was new and just noticed this I think it is this way from the factory.
What gives? Is there a fuse that needs to be installed?

Yes. In the trailer brake harness is a 40amp fuse. Lift your hood, pop the top on the under hood fuse block and standing by the fender, upper left corner you will see a red colored plastic plug. Take that out and put the 40 amp fuse in and you will have power on the +12v line.

You need to install the fuse under the hood in the fuse box, take the cover off and as your looking at the fuse box from the drivers fender side it will be the towards the top left of the fuse box, there should be a RED B+ plastic fuse there, just pull it out and put the 40 amp fuse in it's place. Then you should have power to the trailer plug.:grd:

I'm pretty sure there is a fuse you need to pu in...should have been with the brake controller wire adapter.....Do a search and I'm sure you can find it or someone else will reply soon...
