I have read every post I could on cranking torsion bars with all the pluses and negatives ( ie. green keys/stock keys , stock shocks/shim shocks/longer shocks , ride quality good/bad/ugly.
My goal is to put H2 wheels and 315/70/17 on. Would rather not do a lift , too old to climb that high:)
In all my reading have not read any info on the yellow jounces except that after cranking they no longer contact the A arm . Reading in the service manual it seems to me that they are an intrical part of the suspension system and give the torsion bars their variable rate. This may account for the harsher ride that some are having with cranked bars. Rather than re-invent the wheel I'll ask first ,has anyone adjusted the jounce to contact the A arm after cranking and what were the results .
I am only a back yard mech. so any and all comments are welcome , thanks
