: PCV Re-Route
06DURAMAX2500 08-23-2008, 04:01 PM Ordered the PCV re-route kit from Tony on Wednesday night, and it got delivered this am. Makes this job very easy, and very professional looking. Defiantly recommend the kit, over trying to rig something up, do to how nice these fittings work. The hardest part is removing/installing on the driver side, start with the passenger side that way you will have an idea when you get on the driver side and cant see everything.
Robby Avery 08-23-2008, 05:49 PM X2 on the kit i just bought the fittings from tony but they look really good and I went to my local tractor supply and bought hydraulic lines to make sure the vent lines didn't kink on me lol.
v2500hd 08-23-2008, 07:34 PM This is great info,, I ordered mine Friday from Tony, looking forward to getting this done along w/the blocker &finger
ElCaminoManT 08-24-2008, 10:36 PM i think im gonna have to get in on this pretty soon. i still need to install my block plate and stick that ive had for months now. maybe thatll be a good time to pull the upper intake for a good cleaning.....
99Freightliner 08-24-2008, 11:24 PM Tony's kit is well worth it. Finally got it put on the other day...swiped some old hyd. hose from work and cut it up it to perfect lengths. It's a good feeling to know that oily mess is not going into my intake anymore...

Wise choice on the hydrulic hose its by far the best thing to use when worring about kinking the vent:D hoses
JC1843 08-25-2008, 10:11 AM Good choice -- Hydraulic hose is made to work with oil and will last forever.
The "Heater Hose" that most use to reroute the PVC is cheap and ready available, but is not oil compatible or the best to used with oil products. Over time it will swell, deteriorate, and loose strength. Then it may kink and block the venting of the crankcase. If you use heater hose, check it every so often. :)
JWells07LBZ 08-25-2008, 09:20 PM Awesome. Hope I'm that pleased with my kit. Ordered mine Thursday morning. It's probably here already but that silly b***h in my office didn't go get the mail from the post office today. I'm definately gonna have it tomorrow and put it on. Can't wait.
eggsack 08-25-2008, 10:47 PM :eek:got a link to order from Tony, I can not find him.

Got mine in the mail today. Waiting on my EGR blocker and finger stick with the install coming this weekend.
No more shiznit in my intake and no more $500 EGR valve replacements!
jarmstrong 08-25-2008, 11:43 PM is there anyway possible that air could be sucked in with the PCV delete mod with no filters? I've had Tony's kit for about 4 months but I've been worried about putting it on. I know with the little VW TDI engines they draw a little vacuum from time to time.
thanks
larrywd 08-27-2008, 03:01 AM Is the reroute in lieu of the blocker plate and finger stick or just an addition.
ColbyColorado04 08-27-2008, 03:10 AM in addition to......
nj06dmax 08-27-2008, 03:54 PM not to hijack this thread but i just did my pcv reroute today i guess i did mine the el cheapo way lol like $15 1in bar stool leg cap, 3/4 street 90, like 7ft 3/4 heater hose, zip ties, hose clamp the only problem i had was the pita wire connector in front of the intake part. that mofo took forever to get out. i have a lbz and had no choice but to pull it out beacuse it was in the way btw is it bad to do this b4 the blocker and fingerstick im waiting for that to ship

this looks good to me,,
Tony Burkhard 09-02-2008, 09:44 PM Thanks guys for all the positive feedback.
I know there is cheaper ways to screw around and round up parts than my kit but there is also cheaper ways to get drunk than going to the bar and buy $3-$5 drinks :D
Yes beware of the heater hose! please do not use that, sever engine damage may result!
My economy kit has fuel hose and the deluxe kit has low pressure hydraulic hose in it.
Anyone has trouble with anything please feel free to give me a call, and if you want to order my kit do the same at 989-550-1288.
Thanks
Tony
gralewaj 09-03-2008, 07:42 AM Just thought I'd chime in here, Tony's kit is outstanding! I'm so happy I got rid of the PCV into the turbo. I cleaned the IC tube and boot and firewall, etc. after the install and guess what?... the oily mess didn't return to any of it!!! Great investment.
Thanks Tony.

The PCV does not suck in, it vents the crank case. If you have the kit, do not hesitate to put it on. There is nothing to worry about. Unless water can be forcefully pushed up a 5/8 inch hose about 4 feet long, there is nothing to worry about. You will get rid of the oil in the Turbo, and have a better running, better ventilated engine! This is the same type of setup that the 2003 Duramax's came with I think.

Drop off the kit at my house and I will dispose of it. No need to worry about it.;)
JC1843 09-03-2008, 04:35 PM Four cylinder engines gererate lots of pulses in the crankcase, so you may have vacuum at times.
These trucks do not create vacuum in the crankcase, so nothing to worry about. I would be more concerned with a filter on the hose because it may clog. Then build internal pressure in the crankcase which could blow a seal or gasket.
800HMRK 09-07-2008, 07:58 PM Do you have to worry about the PVC vent line frosting up in cold temps with the re-route? I live in Alaska and was considering ordering one.
Caper01 09-07-2008, 10:57 PM So whats the exact purpose for this? I see that it goes in hand with blocking the EGR plate..sounds like to keeps oil from collecting in the intake or something?
03LB-7dmax 09-07-2008, 11:03 PM It keeps the oil from going into the turbo, and throughout the intercooler, and then into the motor.
Hal Hughes 09-10-2008, 07:32 AM I got my kit from Tony on Monday. It looks very nice and I will be installing it Friday. Thanks Tony for the quality product.
hpy540 09-17-2008, 11:36 AM How much was the kit?
Tony Burkhard 09-17-2008, 12:28 PM How much was the kit?$99.85 for the economy kit and $109.80 for the deluxe kit to your door.
66chevy 09-17-2008, 12:41 PM what year(s) is this recomended for? i see the 03 came with this already? if so, why did the factory stop putting it on after this, there must have been a reason for them to stop right? i just want to know, thanks
Tony Burkhard 09-17-2008, 12:53 PM Thes kits fit LLY, LBZ and LMM. The reason they changed from the LB7 is for the under hood emisions and not have a chance of a drip of oil from the motor.

eggsack 09-17-2008, 11:49 PM I am going to get one of these, but I am only asking becasue I am ignorant about this, but is there a better place to route the oil other than on the ground? Doesn't gas engines vent the pcv back into the crankcase and would this be a good idea or bad idea to do to the diesel?
Just asking.:D
Tony Burkhard 09-18-2008, 09:02 AM That is how they do it from factory, it goes in preturbo but than its pressurized by the turbo and makes it leak out of the intercooler connections.
smokin139 09-18-2008, 11:19 AM has any one had any oil drips on there drive way with this kit? i have like 100 feet of 2 lane concrete state highway as a back drive way and a concrete and brick paver front driveway and my dad is a clean freak. Just wondering. And it would only leak oil if it was running obviously, so idleing for a long time would probably produce an oil drip, or would it have to be at a high idel state to make the oil go through the new hose.

What kind of 90 and other fittings did you use? dont have the money to spend with the fuel prices these days. also wanna get my hands dirty, like to be a do-it-yourselfer. :D
