My friend and I want more power :ro) I have 2002 2500 CC SB 4x4 LB7/allison. He has 2003 3500 ex-cab 4x4 LB7/6 spd. we both have removed our mufflers and added K&N style drop in filters.I will only be pulling 5,000 to 10,000lbs so i see OJ or HotOJ in my future. But he pulls 24,000+lbs and w/ OJ he could only use level 1... RIGHT??? So I guess my question is what chip or power pack is the best for him? Also anyone know any tips and tricks (or links)to get MORE HORSE POWER

Thanks

gittyup,

Most popular and with the best features/safety oriented is the Edge Juice with Attitude. Lots of Predators as well. We sell the Edge 5/6 to 1 over any other LB7 products, give us a call if you have any questions etc. We also have full A pillar mounts for the Attitude that really make it look sharp and easily read as you drive.

You won't be dissappointed with the 6-gun. All of the safety features built in. Without speedloader, you can go up to level 4 while towing. With speedloader, level 3 is the highest setting recommended when towing.

Edge with Attitude. You get the added guages with the attitude along with some Allison protection. It's an awsome setup.

Edge attitude. Set it to 90 max on an allison unless you dont care about having your trans rebuilt/beefed up

You have already found the best place to get info on more HP for the duramax. ;) :rockit:

Big dyno day in st loius coming up, http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24502 . I will bring my juice if you want to try it out. Might be some other guys there that would let you try some other boxes

Happy with Edge Product. No problems. Easy to install and remove.

chip/programmer, then EGT guage to make sure you don't fry the engine. Go back to stock air filter. makes no difference for power but stays clean longer and blocks more dirt.

With the programmer and exhaust, your next limiter is the transmission. Stop at 90+ or spend $$$ and beef up tranny.

you want power and quality? Give Banks a call, you can get the banks chip for less and its better and if you really want the whole system get their big hoss or six gun bundle its a all in one go fast kit. If you plan to run high power i would reccomend getting a tranny rebuild. But get banks over Edge its superrior

For the load you'll do - Edge would work but when you start towing 7,500 or more - Banks
For the load he'll do - Banks

Banks 6 Gun w/ Speed Loader works nicely with a stock tranny. When transmission slippage is detected, it defuels to prevent it. When EGTs are too high, it defuels. But with an upgraded tranny, all of this goes away, and it's FUN!

Well, the first thing is you will be fine running either one, banks or edge. However your friend at 24,000 is just about out of luck. My rig combined weights 23,500. And I am here to tell you that, that kind of weight will run either program up to the egt backdown point. In others words you reach that point where you have a stock truck again. Now on the flat lands the lower levels will work fine but as soon has he hits a hill its backdown time for either box. The only drawback is that he will have 6 or 7 hundred dollars worth of box on the truck and by the time he tops the hill he will be stock again because of the backdown that both of the boxes use, which is a good thing by the way. There is no real answer to weight that heavy. He can run either box, however the edge will give him room to adjust the egt set point himself to help with the cut off point, that he will be reaching at some point.
