my buddy, who is DeereDiesel on here, just installed a water injection on his 97 cummins. he is using his windshield washer fluid tank and fluid since windshield washer fluid has methanol in it. i think that is a hell of an idea. its got me wishin i had money now......

been running it for a month or two, so far working great, also using washer fluid

Just out of curiosity you blending your own mix or using store bought solution, my concern would be just what would the effects of erts (you know the stuff listed in most productsas being one iof them inerts) be to to the engine, any Ph(acid or alkali) concerns with the solution as well to long term health of the engine.

good question. i looked at a bottle of windshield washer fluid at walmart and the only ingredients it listed was methanol.

Don't allow wiper fluid to sit in a container for a long period during warm weather. Evaporation of the methanol will leave behind residue which will clog valves and nozzles.

yea u gotta find the good stuff, or yer stuff will freeze up cause they dont use very much meth in the fluid. i try to find the stuff that advertises -30 or so, more meth in it.
