I am hoping someone may have a stash of good used 6.2 pistons and would be willing to part with one or two of them. I have a standard bore so I need a piston in the 3.975 range. Let me know if you got some and what you want for them. Thanks

look at the oil gasket surface on your block and read the letter stamped there for the pistons you need, a-d. then you know what size pistons to ask for, standard bore was still sized.

Yes. Sorry I forgot to include that info. The piston is marked with a C. I have to look at the block to see if it marked the same. I'll post that tomorrow.
Thanks

where on the block is the oil gasket surface?? Also is there four different sizes of pistons?? If so, what for? i know one or two are smaller at the higher heat areas of the block, but that's it.

the bores were factory measured and pistons sized for a real close fit. high compression, tight tolerances

I have some "C" and "D" pistons. You can have one for the postage. If you need the dimensions, I can get it for you at the shop next week.

Didn't get all the info in my last post.

I have some "C" and "D" pistons. I don't know whether they are Bohn or Zollner pistons. You can have one for the postage. If you need the dimensions, I can get it for you at the shop next week.

1986 GM Manual lists the following clearances for them:

Bohn:...Bores 1 - 6, 0.089 - 0.115 mm
...........Bores 7 & 8, 0.102 - 0.128

Zollner:...Bores 1 - 6, 0.112 - 0.138 mm
.............Bores 7 & 8, 0.125 - 0.151

The manual lists pistons A,B,C,D,E, & F.. It does not give the size dimensions.
