Thanks to the Tech's that looked up all those VINs for me. I have one more favor to ask. I'm interested in performance (primarily suspension) enhancements and do it yourself tips for the Suburban.

Any idea's of a good site for this information. I think that it has a problem with the variable assist steering--doesn't seem to "tighten up" at increasing speed.

Thanks again.

Brian.

Hi Brian - I had a 1997 K1500 that had the same exact speed assist issue. It actually happened a couple times. There is a sensor that had to be replaced. Sorry I don't know the exact name of the sensor, but think it is pretty common.

Olskool53,

Thanks. Sounds like it was easy to replace. I read where someone said to be careful not to turn the wheel since this could damage the airbag spring, or something like that.

Was yours a '99 suburban?

Jkoonce,

Thanks for your input as well.

Brian.
